Hi folks,

On behalf of the embed-cdt
<https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/iot.embed-cdt> team I would like to
announce embed-cdt's intention to join the simrel with an offset of +3.

The Eclipse Embedded CDT project builds on top of the Eclipse CDT project
to provide improved workflows for embedded developers. Read more about the
project on the PMI <https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/iot.embed-cdt>.

The project is still in incubation and I will be monitoring the reports to
make sure things like licenses and other items do match expectations of the
Eclipse Simrel.

The project expects to contribute 5.1.3 of embed-cdt
<https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/iot.embed-cdt/releases/5.1.3>,
however we may provide a later further service release if needed.

The initial contribution to simrel is available in gerrit (to be merged
soon): https://git.eclipse.org/r/c/simrel/org.eclipse.simrel.build/+/170739

One final note - the Eclipse Embedded CDT project has a long history before
joining Eclipse as an official project, and one thing that casual observers
may note is that the project's plug-ins are not named org.eclipse.*. To
maintain compatibility with the existing installation base the original
prefix for the namespace of the project, ilg.gnumcueclipse, has been
preserved. This has been approved by the PMC (see email
<https://www.eclipse.org/lists/iot-pmc/msg06828.html> and bugzilla
<https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=552964#c82>).

Thanks,
Jonah
