Hi,

Sorry also from my side for not catching this issue before the release. Thanks
a lot Jonah and everybody involved in finding and fixing the dark mode issue.

I've also created a Trace Compass 6.2.1 service release that includes this
bugfix:

  *   Update site:
https://download.eclipse.org/tracecompass/releases/6.2.1/repository/
  *   Trace Compass standalone RCP:
https://download.eclipse.org/tracecompass/releases/6.2.1/rcp/

Best Regards
Bernd Hufmann

Subject: [cross-project-issues-dev] CPP and Embed CPP 2020-12 in Dark Mode

Hello folks,

The 2020-12 EPPs for CPP and Embed CPP have a serious problem in Dark Mode that
is now resolved. The dialogs were being rendered as black text on a black
background. See Bug
569790<https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=569790> for more details.
In addition to those EPPs, it can also affect users installing Trace Compass
into other versions.

As I have had this report come in via numerous channels I thought I could send
this out widely so if you see something similar you can point people in the
right direction.

I have put the workaround in CDT's N&N Release
Notes<https://wiki.eclipse.org/CDT/User/NewIn101#Release> and reproduced it
here for reference:

This can be resolved by either updating the Trace Compass Plug-ins in the
install or removing the Trace Compass plug-ins if not used. To update the
plug-ins do this:

  1. From Window menu -> choose Preferences
  2. navigate to Install/Update -> Available Software Sites
  3.  Press Add...
  4. Name Tracecompass updates and Location
https://download.eclipse.org/tracecompass/stable/repository/
  5.  Press Add
  6.  Press Apply and Close
  7. From Help menu -> Check for Updates and finish the wizard.
  8. After restarting the Dark Mode will be fixed.

Thanks and sorry for not catching this before the release.

Jonah
