Hi Everyone, I’m Sigi, part of the open source project Eclipse Tractus-X https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/automotive.tractusx and we are in the middle of building that platform.
This platform is based on k8s and uses helm charts as a sane installation base for all products. As far as I know there is no central eclipse helm chart repository. There is an IoT project from Bosch were they leverage github actions with github pages to generate a static helm chart repository. Our current workflow is very similar: we also leverage github action with github pages. We actually have two: dev and stable. Dev is for all non official releases and stable for all official releases. I’m preparing a proposal to suggest to the eclipse foundation to add a helm repository as a service because while the github based approach works well enough, its probably not a good long term solution. Things I think a real helm chart repository can do better are: * Scalability * Proper api (add, delete, etc.) * Archive functionality (push once, don’t allow to delete or overwrite one) * . . . Before I propose this, I’m asking for your feedback, thoughts and suggestions. Also perhaps if you tell me you also see the need, I will ask you later to sign my proposal. Thanks, Sigi Co-PO from Catena-x System Team Cloud Development Architect @ SAP
