Hi,

There are major changes  in Orbit.  There are new versions of *many *things, many bundles have different bundle symbolic names than before, many bundles are slated for replacement, some ancient stuff is slated for removal, and of course there will be continuous updates as they become available at Maven Central.

Please stop including 3rd party dependencies in the features you contribute to SimRel.  Duplicates cause real world problems that you might not notice, and even the builds might not notice, but the users definitely notice, even if you don't notice that they notice:

Please, please read the details and use the latest dependencies:

If you have questions, this GitHub discussion is the perfect place to ask.

Regards,
Ed

FYI,

I have produced a milestone build for m2.  These all reference that build:

https://download.eclipse.org/tools/orbit/simrel/orbit-aggregation/2023-09
https://download.eclipse.org/tools/orbit/simrel/orbit-aggregation/milestone/latest
https://download.eclipse.org/tools/orbit/simrel/orbit-aggregation/milestone/S202307260741

The first two will update to m3 when the time comes.

If you have questions, please read the discussion first, and if that doesn't already answer the question please ask there.

Regards,
Ed

Hello folks,

This is when you normally see me declare an Orbit build. But instead Ed Merks has been working really hard on improving and modernizing 3rd party dependency handling in Orbit taking advantage of all the new features in target platform management like direct from Maven locations.

Please see https://github.com/orgs/eclipse-orbit/discussions/49 for details on the restructuring.

As of right now I am doing the update that latest-I points to https://download.eclipse.org/tools/orbit/simrel/orbit-aggregation/nightly/latest and as soon as Ed gives me the go ahead I will do the latest-S redirection to https://download.eclipse.org/tools/orbit/simrel/orbit-aggregation/2023-09 - full details in the Legacy Links section of https://github.com/orgs/eclipse-orbit/discussions/49

Thanks,
Jonah
