Hi,

Really happy to see this happen.

As usual, Crosswalk QA checked the new web platform features enabled by default
by upstream Chromium 53 and available in Chrome for Android/Desktop, on
Crosswalk Project for Android with upstream samples.

In summary these features are well supported except three:

- Notification badges
(XWALK-7040<https://crosswalk-project.org/jira/browse/XWALK-7040>)

- Autoplay muted videos (Android)
(XWALK-7395<https://crosswalk-project.org/jira/browse/XWALK-7395>)

- PaymentRequest
(XWALK-7396<https://crosswalk-project.org/jira/browse/XWALK-7396>)

See details below.

> Subject: [Crosswalk-dev] PSA: Chromium M53 has landed in Crosswalk

>

> It took a lot longer than it should have, but Chromium 53.0.2785.143 has

> finally hit Crosswalk master (aka Crosswalk 23).

>

> One of the biggest changes from a developer point of view is that gyp is now

> fully *UNSUPPORTED*. gyp_xwalk is no longer run by default when calling

> `gclient sync', and it is not expected to work. You MUST switch to GN if you

> have not already done so. Instructions here:

> https://crosswalk-project.org/contribute/building_crosswalk.html

> We will remove the gyp code from the tree in the near future.

>

> Happy hacking!
