"Reset" is a terrible term IMO - it implies "reboot" or "restart" in my experience - on my first introduction to Crowbar, this caused confusion about what "reset" was going to do - I assumed "restart", and instead, I got something ... different.
"Delete" is probably better since the Node's roles/barclamps are being removed - IIRC, the Operating System install isn't being wiped, so the node could be reprovisioned at later date. I would think "Forget" implies that it's removed from use, but the Roles/Barclamps are not "deleted". In either case a longer hover over help text may help clear up any confusion an operator has. I don't recall if there were hover help functions with CB? When asking these questions on the list a definition of what the button is intended to do will help guide a decision. It's been a month since I did a CB install, and my memory has lots of parity errors, random corrupt bits, and occasionally an entire bank of DIMMS disappears off the map ... ~~shane From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, October 08, 2013 11:23 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Crowbar] Node dashboard buttons in Roxy In the crowbar community branch (now Roxy) the following button label changes were made. Reset was changed to Deallocate Delete was changed to Forget It is being proposed that the buttons be changed back to Reset and Delete in Roxy, they were never changed from the original labels in any Dell releases to date. Prior to committing the change to revert the button labels in Roxy we are looking for input from the community. See attached image. Thanks, dp
