I did a bit of checking, and the main thing that I can find that could be the 
change that was made in 1.6.x (although I'm doubting quite a bit on this) is 
AVRO-944. Assuming this is the case, it would probably be more work than it's 
worth to check this in AvroCapabilities.

As far as I'm concerned, this can be committed. Sound good?
