I'm currently receiving about one virus/worm a day through email, mostly
Klez variants. I think most are from Crypto++ users who put my email
address in their address books. Of course I use virus scanners, and
anyway read my email on a Unix shell account so it doesn't affect me
personally.

However, I'm concerned that even Crypto++ users, who presumably care more
about security than the average person, are being infected with common
viruses. If you do not currently use a virus scanner, please get one NOW.
I personally use Norton AntiVirus, which you can often find on sale for
free after rebate. I've also read good reviews about AVG Free Edition,
which as the name indicates can be downloaded and used for free. You can
get it from http://www.grisoft.com/.

I also suggest that if your company or institution does not have security
measures in place to protect against viruses, to ask your system
administrators to set one up. At my workplace, we have virus filters on
email servers, and also have Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition on each
machine.
