Dear Wei Dai and fellow experts, I've been looking and ZLib and comparing it with Mr Dai's buffer scheme and I prefer the later. The question is that if I extract only the ZIP file format from the famous zlib libs and use the Crypto deflation, inflate routines to put stuff into the ZIP files, will they be compatible with zlib and thus WinZip.
Had anyone done something like this with Crypto regards Bill, (not related)
