But what about the encoder? It is still used to sign commercial applications, even if it is not released.
When I asked to the guys behind Quartz these questions they said that freeware applications fall more or less in a safe place (even if they said it unofficially and they may withdraw the statement anytime), but they just didn't respond when I adressed the question above in particular.
