I'm happy to announce that after a long hiatus, it is possible to
compile/use Crypto++ with Borland's Turbo C++ again. Actually the very first
version of Crypto++ was created using Turbo C++, on Windows 3.1. (I wonder
if anyone besides me knew this. :-) Unfortunately Borland's C++ compiler was
not able to keep up with C++ language development, and the Turbo brand was
discontinued a while back. Now Turbo C++ is back as a free edition of
Borland C++Builder 2006 (see http://www.turboexplorer.com/) and it has
caught up enough so that I was able to get Crypto++ to compile with it after
some effort working around the remaining compiler defects. The changes have
been checked into CVS, and I've placed a snapshot at
http://www.cryptopp.com/temp/cryptopp20061214.zip. I've also fixed some
compile issues with NetBSD and MacOS X, so consider this 5.4 beta 2

There is also a Build Status page now for version 5.4, so you can check
whether your compiler/OS/CPU combination is known to work or not work. It's
at
http://groups-beta.google.com/group/cryptopp-users/web/build-status-for-crypto-5-4.
 I
will keep it up to date as people report results.

And on a related note, I no longer have access to a machine with the
CodeWarrior compiler installed. Unless someone speaks up, I'll be removing
the CodeWarrior project file from the download .zip archive before the
official release since I have no way to update or test it anymore.
