Folks:

The Python Software Foundation *will* sponsor the Tahoe project this
year after all. There are several projects a student could do this
summer related to Crypto++, especially this one:

"Help us author a paper proving the security of the "Semi-Private
Keys" construction from http://allmydata.org/~zooko/lafs.pdf .
Implement small, secure Tahoe capabilities based on Semi-Private
Keys. #217"

Students: if you are interested start here:

http://allmydata.org/trac/tahoe/wiki/GSoCIdeas

And start *now*! The deadline is Friday at 19:00 UTC. Step 1 is to
e-mail the volunteer mentors saying that you are interested.

Regards,

Zooko
