My first one was on my laptop using my Intel Core i5 2410M which only *sometimes* has AES-NI - if the manufacturer decided to give the laptop a BIOS update to enable AES-NI. My model didn't receive this update :( Anyways I'm picking up a new one at the end of the year :) (cause Acer delayed it for ~3 months)
Also (maybe) note that the one with t2.micro used only 10% of the processor due to some EC2 restrictions (I only did this one to test my script).
