Linux 2.6.14-gentoo-r4

I'll try updating to 2.6.15 and see if it helps...

The joysticks I was using are an interesting mix... one USB joystick,
one USB gamepad, one X-Box gamepad with a USB adapter, and one plain
old 15-pin analog joystick.
