I have just started up a small Embedded Software house / Electronics Design consultancy in Christchurch, and would like to take a few moments to introduce myself.
I have been involved with product design for more than 20 years and have moved here by way of the UK and the USA. Background and experience is rather wide starting at the Ministry of Defence designing specialist test equipment 20+ years ago, moving on to wire-photo facsimile systems, professional audio and industrial instrumentation.
I was also the systems architect for the Dolby Digital (film) project which was one of those in-the-right-place-at-the-right-time events in my life. That was a truly fascinating project and involved Digital video processing, image recognition, analogue and digital hardware design, and masses of software - both embedded as well as desktop.
