Folks, Some twelve months back, I relocated from Melbourne to Christchurch (my fiance's home) and continued working for Oracle Corporation managing many large and important databases for them. I'm looking for greener pastures and new challenges. I will consider any opportunities offering a challenge. I have considerable knowledge of Oracle databases and how to manage them. I have worked for Oracle for 11 years (starting as a graduate) in a variety of roles including technical database support, consulting/field support and as DBA (most of my time spent in this role). Working for Oracle allows access to technical knowledge and information that cannot be gained elsewhere! I have consistently being recognised for above average performance. I have a vast array of technical skills, some of which include:
Probably more important are my non-technical skills. I have built up a sounds array of skills after 11 years with Oracle:
I am an amiable, relaxed character -- what you see is what you get. I care a lot about the quality of my work and how people perceive me, so I am very enthusiastic and persistent about most tasks I undertake. The main system I manage includes a variety of databases and bits and pieces with a user community of about 2000 spread throughout the world. The system must be available 24x7. It is one of the largest Oracle 10g Forms installations in the world. Managing such large, highly available systems brings a level of expertise with it that is not common. I believe I can only help anyone I work with. Most of the skills I have are very transferable. If you are interested in more details, then please contact me on 0211 313 422 to chat further. I can also provide a CV with references upon request.
