For the past six months, the Taskforce has been forming a vision for the ICT sector and articulating the barriers to growth and steps to realise the vision.  We are convinced of the need for a quantum change within the sector (and throughout New Zealand for that matter) so ICT can reach its full potential in New Zealand.

Our report is based on our collective experience in growing ICT companies in New Zealand. Clearly it is not the last word on the extensive challenges and opportunities facing the New Zealand ICT sector.

We now ask everyone with a stake in the sector – ICT companies and workers, education and research institutions, marketers, financiers, entrepreneurs and government – to study our report and then have their say.

The report was released on 20 November. We would appreciate receiving all comments by 31 January 2003. After this period of consultation with the wider ICT community, the Taskforce will reconvene to consider the comments and how to turn the draft report into an action plan.

We would particularly appreciate your ideas on:
         The draft recommendations
How to implement or action the report
What type of group could drive the action plan forward.

We welcome your thoughts.
