Hi Elizabeth Below is an overview of the work needed to be completed for our Infrared (IR) interface. The handheld IR device is a Handera 330 PDA [www.handera.com] operating on PalmOS v3.5.2. The person will be required to write an PalmOS API that allows a Satellite Forms based programme to communicate with our Data Logger equipment. The programme must: Discover the Logger using point-to-point IR communication Establish an Infrared Oject Exchange (IrOBEX) connection [IrDA protocol www.irda.org] Perform an upload to the Data Logger with a defined data set. Data Set File Header Current Handera 330 date/time [taken from the Handera's internal clock] Project Start date/time [manual input on Handera] Start Mileage [manual input on Handera] Mileage Units (Miles/Km) [manual input on Handera] Job No. [manual input on Handera] Vehicle Registration [manual input on Handera] Registration Province/State [manual input on Handera] Installing Employee No. [manual input on Handera] Install Location No. [manual input on Handera] The onboard database will be built using Satellite Forms drag and drop software.
