SMARTNET WORKSHOPS SERIES 2003: Taking on the Challenge
http://www.smartnet.co.nz/events/2003/round1.htm

Dunedin: Tuesday, 1 April, The Chancellor Dunedin
Auckland: Wednesday, 2 April, Totem on the Viaduct
Wellington: Thursday, 3 April, The Duxton Hotel
Christchurch: Friday, 4 April, Centra Hotel

LUNCH SESSION: 12noon - 2.00pm
The value of a new challenge is that it focuses energy. Sustained economic
growth can only be achieved if a critical mass of individual New Zealand
enterprises take on the challenge of taking a quantum step up.

i) The Export Challenge
Neil Scott, Leader and Chief Engineer, Archimedes Project, Stanford
University (USA)
Award winning innovator and expatriate Neil Scott argues that despite
military uncertainties and the appreciation of the NZ dollar there are great
export opportunities in the US and elsewhere for innovative companies.
ii) The Information Challenge
Brenda Tripp, Managing Director, TACTICS Ltd (Australasia)
Many organisations have recognised the strategic importance of managing
information as a corporate asset. Brenda will highlight some of the specific
tactics used by successful organisations to shift from strategy to
performance. (NB: Brenda will be speaking at Auckland, Wellington and
Christchurch events only).
iii) The Learning Challenge
John Martin Jr., Director Asia Pacific, Pathlore Limited (USA)
The promise of eLearning has been over-hyped in some quarters but it has
re-ignited discussion about investment in education and training as a
strategic business issue. John Martin will focus on learning management
solutions that deliver real ROI.
