Hello everybody, I wanted to talk about CS:GO's community server browser. The server browser is broken in its current state. One day, it will display 300-500 servers, the next day there will only be around 25-75. I've heard that it attempts to pick the closest servers near you, but many of the servers that are shown are hosted in Europe, and most of them had a password.

The server browser should be similar to CS:S, where it shows all servers with the default region set to “ALL”. Gametracker tracks over 15,000 servers and when filtering servers near me, I get well over 1000 results. Fixing the browser would help strengthen the CS:GO modding community, allowing players to find custom servers easier. The modding community is important to CS:GO and it has been lacking since launch. The recent updates Valve have released are amazing and I appreciate the hard work from Valve (especially the "session no longer available" bug fix).

The modding community in CS:GO is very important. One major reason for CS:S and CS 1.6 having players still is because of the modding community. The current modding community in CS:GO lacks developers but if things start changing and CS:GO starts becoming more modding-friendly, developers that create content for CS:S and CS 1.6 may move over to CS:GO. Content creators disliked CS:GO’s modding community at launch but if Valve put some more effort into supporting the community, developers may slowly move over to CS:GO.

I want to strengthen the modding community and I hope the issues with the server browser can be resolved. If nothing else Valve, can we get some insight to how the current browser works?

Thanks.
