People having an intention isn't a defining criteria for a flame war,
unless of course you're judging your own intention.
Accusing people of flaming when being criticized, seems to be IMHO.
But it is good that you cleared your previous "mis-phrasing" (as you
seemingly describe it?) up. Because your initial statement literally
taken has a different meaning.

My main intentions behind my message was ONLY: to confirm a lot of
stuff has broken since the latest update, irrespective of webkit or GOTV.
I have no agenda, other than for a fix. I don’t know much about GOTV
period. I just thought I’d have a go at explaining why things are as
they are, and to let you know Valve have been contacted.
I assumed “GOTV” contained an element of non-static content, which
would tie in my original statement. It isn’t about MY fix or YOUR fix,
it is a fix that will benefit many people for various reasons (that’s
both webkit and GOTV).
A mature, constructive conversation is not much to ask. I can handle
criticism.

I'm asking a question to learn information. Answering the question
isn't going to start a flame war. Not answering it isn't helpful, so
if you're worried about being unhelpful then please answer.

Guys, I don’t want to start a flame war, I am not a coder at all,

I will leave you to it - thanks

What is non static about a gotv?

This is my theory, I don’t know 100% about GOTV but the webkit
is broken, and it is causing problems with loads of non-static
in-game stuff right now, including plugins and in-game
commands, music streaming, ads etc.
It seems like a real coincidence this has stopped working
since the update that broke a lot of other stuff, so I am
hedging my bets here.
Just an “educated” guess…

Wait, what? Connecting to gotv is controlled by webkit?

This is because webkit is broken for anything other than
the initial page hit.
Non-static content doesn’t work basically, as you pointed
out since the update to the CEF browser. We are
communicating with Valve to get this fixed ASAP, as it’s
affecting a lot of people.
Thanks

I can't connect to GOTV even when connecting to the server
first and then connecting to the GOTV.

Hi,
apparently since yesterday update people cannot
connect to our TVs anymore (linux).
No matter if the TVs are password protected or
not, they always try to join a 0xfffffff lobby
then fail.
Is this happening to anyone else?
