Hi Daniels, Well as i wrote with Chris yestoday, I never mentioned that i'm from Valve, i don't think valve sent him a post to read, but i want the mails to go through the Valves mailsystem. So we can have better overview so the valve devs can help on the chat. Because ofcourse i'm glad that he ask about it. And as i said yestoday to him, i will forward it to one of the devs to checkup on the guidelines, but also if you read the post i've sent him in the start.
But my conclusion from how i can answer the question about allowed or not is out from the Guidelines. Not allowed: Allowing players to claim temporary ownership of CS:GO items that are not in their inventory (Weapon skins, knives, etc.). You are basically NOT giving the player temporary ownership of an item they don't have, because the default player model is something everyone has. Where the skin changer does so you can claim skins that the users haven't paid for, and i remember reading a lot about that, when i setup my Arena server up, because it scared me from using the plugin, reading that valve robots are banning tokens daily for using this, because server owners are using token services. I hope we are clear. Is that allowed now? Because its like this, Ive been running a CS community for over 15 years now. We are following the guidelines and always have. But we compete against other servers that dont follow the guidelines... They offer their players cool Valve skins the players dont own, and they never get token banned. This means that we follow the rules and we lose players and they break the rules and gain players without consequences. This is not fair at all. I dont think its fair having rules that you dont enforce because the good guys gets screwed. 😕 Med vänliga hälsningar / Best regards Christopher Szabo | Chairman of the Board Skype: szaabo85 | E-mail: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Website: BrutalCS.nu | Facebook: Facebook.com/BrutalCS Från: Christopher Szabo <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Skickat: den 2 januari 2020 12:20 Till: Miguel Petersen <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Ämne: Sv: Re: [VALVE] Disable new player models I dont understand. It clearly states: To be clear, the services that should not be offered on a _community server_ include (but are not limited to): – Allowing players to claim temporary ownership of CS:GO items that are not in their inventory (Weapon skins, knives, etc.). – Providing a falsified competitive skill group and/or profile rank status or scoreboard coin (e.g., Operation Challenge Coins). – Interfering with systems that allow players to correctly access their own CS:GO inventories, items, or profile. For clarification, it is also not acceptable to provide players with custom models and/or weapon skins that do not exist in the CS:GO ecosystem. You should probably reword the Valve guidelines then. Also the guidelines now states that we are not allowed to use ANY custom skins. Many community servers are using mods like zombie etc that are using custom skins. And they are banned according to the above rules.
