I do think a lack of communication is what is causing it. Its very unlikely valve will actually remove the game altogether, but we still do not know what their plan for the futureĀ  of csgo is (migration to a new appid? make it a branch like demo viewer csgo? will matchmaking be shot down (very unlikely, artifact still has MM servers!)?) still, it shouldn't be the biggest worry, since the original deadline of "summer" is already long passed, and so at this point i hope that it takes /even more time /for the game to finish. its a lot of work for a company built like valve, and rushing it is never a good option.

As for cs2 community servers, i don't know exactly having them up will benefit, considering there's no browser server, and things like lua-vscript and workshop submitted cs2 maps arent finalized.

Patience pays off. Pray for the best.

I don't know why people think it's going to be retired all-together
