Please let me know whether you, or game developers you know,
would be interested in developing Youth Venture’s Online Experience.

Ashoka’s Youth Venture is
looking for the right vendor to design and build an Online Experience that
enables an unlimited number of youth to develop a plan for their sustainable
community improvement project.  The Online Experience is a learning
experience in which content is presented in fun/playful/engaging ways.

Specifically, Youth Venture will further a previously
designed 2008 pilot NYU online initiative in several ways:

- Expand the university online initiative (was geared to
youth ages 18-20) pilot to additional USA partner universities.

- Add new and enhanced elements that further engage and
support youth (ages 15-20) in their project development

- Design all online functionality (and content) so it can be
easily adopted and used by youth and YV staff globally (i.e. beyond the
originally intended university audience)

The Online Experience will be less like a community website
and more like a fun, engaging Online Experience that pushes youth through the
process of developing their plan to launch their own social venture.  The
Online Experience will be focused on self-pacing for individual users.
Additionally, the Online Experience must be equally appealing to users who are
ready to get down to business and crank out their work, and for the user who
needs
some inspiration and jumping off points.

The Online Experience must be fully operational and launched
by the end of 2009.  We have up to $100,000 to spend on the design and
build.

I’ll be on holiday (not checking email or voicemail)
from June 18-26.  In my absence please direct all questions to James
Maynard (cc’d).

Ashoka’s Youth Venture inspires and
invests in teams of young people to design and launch their own lasting social
ventures, enabling them to have this transformative experience of leading
positive
social change. Started in the US,
Youth Venture is now operating in nearly twenty countries in Africa, Asia,
Europe, North America and South America.
As we invest in Venturers around the world, we are beginning to connect them
into a powerful global network.  Our Venturers start businesses, civil
society organizations and informal programs that address all kinds of social
issues, including poverty, health, the elderly, the environment, education,
diversity issues, and the arts. Youth Venture helps our Venturers through this
process of designing and launching their ventures, providing guidance,
how-to’s, and a process for designing and pitching a venture idea.
