Hi,

This letter is from Members of the CSI-NSIT Students' Branch (Computer
Society of India) and we are back with our famous newsletter "Bits n
Bytes" Vol. 4. After three successful volumes, we are currently working
on fourth volume.

About 'BITS N BYTES'

Bits n Bytes is the quarterly newsletter published by CSI-NSIT
containing articles related to technologies from various fields, apart
from reports of the major events organized by CSI-NSIT. All the articles
are brought to you by NSIT students under valuable guidance of seniors
and alumni. It is available absolutely FREE at CSI NSIT web portal.

The newsletter is for everybody even for someone who is just learning
about technologies. All the news and information in the newsletter are
those that related to you only, directly or indirectly. This makes it a
must read newsletter for everybody.

  Topics discussed in past Volumes

The first volume was about creating awareness of Open Source among all
people. After so many years of global domination by licensed software
(which cost much more than their open source counter parts), we tried to
make people aware of open source software and their important features
like modifying and free to distribute under GPL(General Public License).

In sync, the second volume also focused on open source tools, which can
replace your paid licensed versions. Also included in the magazine: of
Manusheel Gupta, alumnus of NSIT, reports of the major events organized
by CSI-NSIT.
experiences

While the third volume diversified the focused area as we delved into
topics like Web Development, Hardware. Included interesting topics like:
Hot New Technologies, IRC Prelude. Also included are the experiences of
Tarun Tandon, as a member and the current Vice-Chairperson of CSI-NSIT.
Open Source did feature in the form of Open Source alternatives for the
most
popular proprietary software and much more.

Some of the articles of universal interest which will highlight the next
edition of Bits n Bytes are : 3G, Digital Security, Hardware, etc.
