Ryzom Coding Contest is intended to generate enthusiasm for Ryzom development and to encourage developers to contribute applications that demonstrate use and adoption of the Ryzom API and Ryzom game.Prizes will be awarded to those who submit the best projects.The contest is to encourage players and developers to collaborate and create fantastic new free software applications for Ryzom players. For example, you can develop an inventory management system, or a brokerage where players can find crafters who can make the items they are looking for, or even more ideas.The goal is to create a Ryzom tool, plugin or website that uses the new Ryzom API. The Ryzom API is a web OpenAPI service that provides real information from within the game.Projects will be judged on:Innovation, Usefulness, Ease-Of-Use, Multilingual Support (English/French/German), Validity and Completeness, Code Quality. To enter, eligible contestants must visit http://dev.ryzom.com/boards/13/topics/541 during the Contest Period and follow the on-screen instructions to register and submit their Project .You can work in teams (3 person max). There is no limit on the number of Projects per participant/team.The Project can be web site, a web tool, a desktop application (must run at least on Windows), a widget (netvibes, iGoogle), or even an iPhone or facebook application. They prefer PHP but you are free to use the language you want (Ruby on Rails is nice too).The prizes are : 1st prize: EUR 3 000 (USD 4 200), 2nd prize: EUR 1 000 (USD 1 400) & 3rd prize: EUR 500 (USD 700).
