Hi, As the exams are over for most of us. I guess it is time to re-unite once again before going on for the vacations. The next meeting, after some preliminary discussion with some people has been decided on
Saturday, 5th June, 2 P.M Connecting Block (as usual) The agenda for the meeting would be the following : - Code Mania : A file named tron.py has been uploaded at the group. It is just an extended version of the snakey game that we demoed/ discussed last week. A basic prototype of the tron<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tron_(video_game)>game has been implemented. As of now I have just added a very basic/raw algorithm for the bot part of it. We plan to have a bot vs bot competition, and maybe even a human vs bot competition during the meet, so all those interested can edit the set_direction function of Snake class to improve the bot AI. (Disclaimer : The code is really dirty, without proper commenting, but it just works...:)) (Also, if there are too many people who would like me to extent this python game to interact with C++ code, i.e. if they want to code the bot in C++, please write back to me, if there are too many people i would probably do that) - Gadget Show Off : If you have any cool gaming gadget, or maybe even if it is not related to gaming, you are most welcome to bring it along and show it off. Infact, you can reply to this thread about any gadget you would be bringing, maybe it could be inspirational for others too. As for the record, you guys can atleast expect an XO<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OLPC_XO-1>, with some cool games installed on it. - - An exciting session by NSIT Alumni, Nalin Savara, who has been in the Gaming Industry for quite some time, the recent trends and the future of the gaming Industry. - Discussion/planning of the ongoing projects undertaken during the incubation of the club. I am pretty sure many of us would have even forgot about it, due to end sems. If anyone requires any help regarding the working of the tron game, you are most welcome to connect to me through mail or phone. Also, if anyone finds the code too disorganised, and would like to present a better/improved of the same , I would be indebted to you, you are most welcome for the same also. Regards, Mohit Taneja (9990990084)
