I highly, highly recommend reading the tutorial on this site on floats and liquid layouts. I've built 3 sites using CSS, but still felt like I had not understood how to do positioning correctly. I was really having huge problems with a site in different browsers and yesterday I found this site. In 20 minutes I had the basic framework of my site working 100% in IE, Moz and Opera. This is the first tutorial that has made everything clear.
