This may be a dumb question, but I noticed you can give an ID (and I assume also CLASS) a solely numeric value. If I start it with a alpha character then all is hunky dory, but I want it to be a number. What gives? Is there rationale for this?

Just looking for an explanation if anyone knows, thanks!

ie:

div#01 { width: 100%; }  == no good
