Hello to all, and thank you for this discussion group.

I am having a layout problem. I am working on a site for my new employer. The main layout and design were already created by the previous webdesigner and was done all in tables. This is my first project with this company, and since there was a deal of add-ons for the site, I decided to take a crack at removing the table layout and doing it all in CSS.

The new layout is located at
http://www.indyheads.com/newlayout/page.html
With the style sheet at
http://www.indyheads.com/newlayout/styles.css

The page displays correctly in Gecko based engines like Firefox and Netscape. I tested it in Konquerer on a few Linux live-cds and it showed correctly just like in Firefox. In Safari on Mac, if I remember correctly it had extra vertical spacing between the left side divs, sorry no screenshot on that one. IE6 on Win2k, and Opera 7.5 and 8.0 it appears as if the stylesheet is never loaded. I copied the stylesheet to my harddrive and told Opera 8.0 to use it as the user override stylesheet and it displays correctly. I have screenshots below of both views in Opera 8.0 I also changed the User-agent in Opera to show as Mozilla then Opera and then IE, but none displayed the styles at all.

Here is how it is displayed in Firefox 1.0.4

Is this because I linked to the stylesheet instead of importing it? Also, it does not show correctly in IE5.2 on Mac, but I think that is because of the linking of the stylesheet.

I have not seen the access logs, so I am not sure what browsers are primarily used by our visitors yet, I hope to get that information next week. I know there is a lot of Javascript in the html file that I have not gotten a chance to strip out, but that is for another time.

Sorry for all the questions, and the long post. If any other informatin is needed, please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Zonjai
