Don't know the answers to your Mac questions, but have a couple of
nit-picking suggestions for XP:
Trim the widths, particularly the outer container-- you're getting a
16+px h-scroll bar at 800.
The text in the drop down things is breaking the containers a little
early on font zoom.
Consider using relative font-sizes so that IE users can zoom the text, too.
