Garrett, I think you missed the point that Ron was subtly stating. CSS-Discuss is a forum for discussing the practical application of CSS[1], not a forum for airing grievances about browsers' abilities or lack thereof to apply style. If you are looking for a practical application that addresses your issues, or if you have a question about how to do something with CSS, by all means feel free to ask for that here. "Has anyone found a way to style button elements?" is a valid question, one that Chris Heilmann answered a while back with his statement that there isn't a lot that can be done. "Browsers should be able to style button elements," which might be valid on other forums, is off topic here, as it helps nobody resolve the issue in today's browsers.
