Hi Dan,
It looks to me like you are trying to build a table lay-out in CSS All
the absolute positioning etc.
It is in essence a three column layout for which there are many
templates on the web you could use as guides. In general absolute
positioning is not cool as it takes the item out of the flow and what
has happened is typical.
