Hello, I have a question to end my desperate efforts building the css for my site.

While IE does not display the bottom border. How can I achieve the same on IE? I started with the menu layout copied from an A List Apart article. * Where does this gap come in front of the menu items? Maybe anyone could help me, fixing my stupid CSS work.
