It is because you've used the border-bottom and right-border combo.
..Use margin-bottom: 10px on those items instead.

Thanks Peter, that did the trick! It makes sense now in the cold light of morning when I'm not panicking...<G>

I don't suppose there's a way to make the colored right bar appear *inside* the colored nav boxes, rather than outside as it does now (I guess that's what borders do...)? Or do I need to use a graphic element that appears in the bar flush-right?
