I am a long time Mac user, and recently bought a Dell...scratch that, I
bought a $200 version of Internet Explorer. I only use the Dell to test Web
sites that I build using my Mac. I have not installed anything on it other
than IE 5.0, IE 5.5, FireFox, and Opera. The Dell is running (closer to a
jog, really) Windows XP Home.

I do not have Arial Narrow installed by default. I have Arial, Arial Black,
Arial Bold, Arial Italic and Arial Bold Italic. I'd say that a majority of
PC buyers, looking to save money on their purchase, probably get a machine
with XP Home, but that's totally a guess. I'm sure there are a million and
one sites out there with XP Professional vs. XP Home Vs. what ever pointless
version of Windows exist under XP.

I do have a lot of Futura fonts in XP Home, so that might be an option?
Futura Light might work?
