Thanks, I see this sets the caption box to a width based in %. I'm not sure how well that's going to work - what if the image is much wider?

I did manage to get the caption to resize at
http://www.socahort.org/awardsbanquet.html

by applying the text size value to the div itself, not the paragraph of text. This will come in handy the next time I have another iamge that's also 320 px wide!

It doesn't help me with my next problem of captioning a bunch of images, which you can see at
http://www.sfvartclub.org/artaroundtown.htm

I'm supposed to be putting two lines of text (the name of the artist, and the title of the artwork), under each image. Right now they all just float left with a border and margins.

So I'd still love to find a way to make a caption box with a width based automatically on the width of the image, and then make the text automatically wrap inside this box width. But it sounds like that's not possible. And I can't go making a new style for every possible image width?

Maybe the solution is to just use Photoshop and make a graphic...

Has anyone solved this successfully in CSS? Someone mentioned doing it with a table, but I don't know tables. Is it time to learn?!

thanks,

Trish
