I have been having a number of problems styling the following site:

http://www.southdevons.co.uk/
The stylesheet is here: http://www.southdevons.co.uk/style/grove.css

In order to avoid confusion, I guess I'd better tackle them one at a time.
So, the first is the <h1> and <h2>:

I set the background image to a 50px square and 40px square image
respectively, with the intention that the text - and therefore the bottom
border - should both align to the bottom of the image. Unfortunately I
couldn't find any way to do this other than by trial-and-error padding.
Not only am I not convinced this will be browser-independent, but any
browser (eg Firefox) which allows the user to re-size text defined by
point size, will allow my careful trial-and-error aligning to go wrong.

I do have other problems with these elements, but they are connected with
one of the other things I am stuck on, so that wcan await my next
question...

Thanks in advance for any pointers
