Looks like you saved your PNG's as 24 bit with alpha transparency.
FYI, IE 6 and previous versions do not support alpha transparency. So
anything alpha-transparent, even if it is a 100% fully transparent
alpha, are filled in with a color. Your options are:

- Give your PNG's a white fill/background
- Save these as 8 bit PNG's or GIF's with basic transparency.
- Use Javascript to make it work in IE
- Hide an invalid, proprietary CSS rule behind a conditional comment
that uses Direct X to implement alpha transparency

... I think the first choice is safest.
