Based on that idea, I thought of negative z-indexing, but positioning seems to be enough: #gone3 { visibility: hidden; position:relative; } and in Fx, the dragging of the img can be prevented with #gone3 { visibility: hidden; position:relative; z-index:-1} but I don't know if that is related to a bug, nor if it's possible to get this img back ever.
