You shouldn't have "fixed" it for the sake of validation :-)

The 'property: value' "display:inline-block;" is perfectly valid CSS2.1.

The CSS standards are "growing", but the validator's 'default' is still
stuck on CSS2. No big deal since we can alter that.
You just have to set the options in the W3C validator to 'validate
against CSS2.1 (or CSS3)'.
