I ended up fixing it (I think). I checked ie6win, firefox win, and golive's
live rendering, which is supposed to be opera. I just need a site check on
some other OS/browser combos.

What I did was to float right and clear right the .roundb div. I also added
a IE hack ( * html .roundb {margin-bottom:18px} ) to the external style
sheet.
