I'm running Win Xp Pro SP2 and in Firefox 1.5.0.3  I see the first and 
second test textarea boxes with white backgrounds and the third box with a 
light gray.... IE 6.0 is the same..

This sounds like a Google tool bar auto-fill type issue..
