I tried the generator, I think the reasoning and logic penetrated enough into 
my brain to at least get a layout going.  I'll need more rehashing and pensive 
thought to be a preacher though.

I think the IE width hack is still not right.
Also the side navigation still loads funky in IE.
And why can't I mandate a height for the header.  I know that's not good for 
IE.  My problem is if I wish to only set a background graphic for the header 
can't I designate a height.  Or put the image in inline xhtml ?

To be honest, I used the tool on the web page I sent you. Grabbed the
source and didn't touch it. ;-)

I add my own wrappers where necessary to aid in positioning. Anything
that is part of the main jello structure I never messed with.

We used this on a partial re-do recently here:

and further here:

the client took the site over after we did the home page and 'fap' section.
