Hi all,

I am trying to clear the space between the buttons. I also don't like
the way the padding is going above the ul. It would be great if you
could help me.

Padding seems to be the only way I have found to make the whole
button clickable - is this correct. My aim is for an accessible menu,
with a repeating image background.

I went on the list archives to find the simplest way to have an
active state (current page) for one of my buttons. Eventually I found
a simple answer from one of the listomatic menus. Just to check.. is
this method ok?

Apologies if these questions are very basic but I have been looking
through other peoples css and struggling to find the answers.

I also saw on the list archives some links to layouts. I am going to
be using a 3 column fixed - if anyone has any pointers on which is
best to use then feel free to advise on that too.

People aren't always to keen to here my life story, however this is
going to be my site and my aim is to go back and start at the basics,
try to keep all hacks out and have minimal cross browser problems. My
days of fixed position navigation are over!

Kind regards, Chris

p.s. css-d people. I don't know whether my knowledge of simply
navigating the web has improved or whether the list archives have
become much easier to use. Either way I am beginning to understand
wikis a little now and think that you guys are doing amazing work.
