CSS guru David Laakso very kindly gave me some code:

}
br.right {
clear : right;
}

clear : left;
}
.clear {
height : 0;
clear : both;
}
Can someone please explain to me what this does and why it is needed with
strict xhtml. Thank-you in advance.
