The visual is doable. A float layout will work better for you. Absolute 
positioning is fine, but seldom works well for the base structure. 
A well structured layout can hold at least +2 font-scaling; and, will be 
functional and usable at the highest minimum font-size setting. Your 
page is not working as I think you may want it to using that criterion. 
You'll need to use your favorite method work around for min/max width in 
IE/6.0.
