Hello All, We¹ve been having problems with our HTML page when using IE8 and certain doctypes. When we attempted a style.position = ³absolute² (and subsequent manipulation of the div) with the following doctypes, it worked fine: Worked fine: * No doctype * <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2//EN"> * <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> However, when using the following 4 doctypes, the div would not ³float² and did not behave the way it should have (expand dimensions, contract, etc): * <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> * <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> * <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> * <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> * <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
