I have a menu (just a dummy image for now) that I would like to overlap
a logo but I would like it to also float to the right hand side if a
user expands their window.

I have set an absolute position for the logo and a z-index of 0, and
then I have created a menu_holder an absolute position left 350px and
z-index of 1. Now I would like to have my menu within that
holder/container float right - but then I am forced to declare a width
for the holder/container and this is where I get stuck. Is there a CSS
solution or do I need to look at javascript.

Or maybe I am totally going in the wrong direction with my CSS because
it seems to have led to a dead-end.

Any help is appreciated. Thans.
