Hi, all. I'm almost done converting a table site to CSS, but I am having
a problem.
The problem involves a piece of javascript appearing and disappearing
when I fiddle with the CSS. I don't think I'm doing anything dramatic
with the CSS, but clearly my changes effect it.
I also know nothing about javascript. I have really tried to work around
it, maintaining its integrity. I need help.
1. The javascript is a dropdown menu you can see working here, before I
did a lot of tweaking:

2. Here is the same page after I stripped it of most of its tables and
replaced with CSS:

Note that the drop-down "Towns" menu no longer works in Firefox (it is
fine in IE).
3. The last thing I did in my testing was take out the "strict" document
declaration off of the final edit. The menu works again:

However, #2 validated just fine, so I am confused.
Can anyway see what is going wrong?
Thank you so much.
Dagmar
